Ray hatfield resides in Cody, Wyoming, where he operates a full-time studio with 20 employees, specializing in African and large Life-size animals. Along with some of his staff, Ray has won "Best in World" in the Collective Artist Division with a beautiful Leopard/Bush Pig Mount. More recently, Ray won the 2009 1st Place Best of Category Game head in the Collective Artists Division with a giraffe. he has also won numerous "Taxidermists Choice" Awards and other awards at World, National, and State level Competitions.
In this video, Ray shows you how to change the size and pose of a life-size bear form. Alterations includes turning the neck, changing leg length & positions, installing an artificial nose, opening the mouth on a closed mouth form, and installing a jawset. (The modified form was then used in the making of Ray's Mounting & Finishing a Life-size Brown Bear DVD844.) This video also includes a segment on altering the head width and length of a Warthog. (This section is already included in Ray's Mounting & finishing a Warthog DVD845.) Although Ray is using a life-size Brown Bear form, and a Warthog form in his demonstrations, the techniques used can be applied to most life-size or game head forms respectively.
