Positive-Set Eye Instructions

Begin by leveling the form on your stand. The socket is already cut to perfectly accept the aspheric eye.

The proper degree of depth, angle, and tilt are already molded into the socket.

Fill the back of the glass eye with clay and press it firmly into the socket until it touches the form.

Then, using a level, rotate the eye until the pupil is level.

The eye is now in the exact position for modeling the lids.

The lower lid is begun by using a small roll of clay to fill in between the glass eye and form.

Begin at the front corner of the eye, and press the clay against the glass forming the shape of the lower lid.

The upper lid is formed the same way.

Begin at the front corner with the roll of clay.

Press the clay against the glass to form the shape of the upper lid.

Once the shape of the lid is formed, a small amount of clay may be needed to blend the lid to the form.

Note the overall shape of the eye and its alert appearance.

You will notice how little clay was required to form the proper lid shape.

This system will take the headaches and guesswork out of eye setting and allow it to be fast and accurate every time.
