Why Join Your Local Taxidermy Association?

Whether you are new to the taxidermy trade or a long term veteran of the industry your local association has much to offer. Probably the biggest incentive is to attend a trade show which nearly every association offers. The ability to network with other taxidermists would be worth attending on its own. Sharing stories, experiences and helpful hints can reenergize you in your studio.

Trade shows also offer seminars designed to expand your knowledge, show the latest techniques and to make you more efficient in your work. Seeing the products vendors offer, up close and personal, will add a new dimension into understanding what you see in their catalogs. McKenzie Supply and most vendors offer a substantial discount on their products at a trade show. You have a chance to develop a personal relationship with the vendors and their staff as well.

Finally, you can enter a piece of taxidermy work into competition. Learn from the judges your strengths and weaknesses and ways to improve your work. The bottom line is your association can help you become a better taxidermist and professional, which will make your customers happier and more appreciative of your efforts. If you aren’t a member, consider joining your state association today.
