Mule Deer Paint Schedule

Instruction Steps:

  1. Putty all holes, cracks, nostrils, ears, etc. with a paintable material such as Magic Sculpt.

  2. Always paint light colors first; then dark. Begin with Jonas Off White. Spray lightly around eyes, mouth and chin area, as needed to cover up and blend hair slip and blemishes.

  3. Next, use Cream to lightly speckle over the white around eyes.

  4. Spray liberally, using Deer Ear inside the ear, making sure to saturate all the areas. Let dry one hour.

  5. Using Dark Chocolate Brown, lightly speckle ears to achieve a freckled appearance. Shade-in down into the ear butt area. Let dry.

  6. Using Dark Chocolate Brown, lightly speckle around eyes over the Cream until the colors blend with surrounding area as needed.

  7. Using Dark Chocolate Brown, spray eyelids thoroughly (paint will wipe off eyes later). Give a light coat to the outside of the nose.

  8. Using Septum Pink, spray just inside the nostril to color the septum area.

  9. Using Black, lightly spray eyelids until uniform in color. Be sure to shape both sides symmetrically, then spray nose from the inside out. Carefully blend the septum color with the black until the desired effect is achieved.

  10. After paint is thoroughly dry, use a soft cloth and gently rub excess paint out of hair, ears, around nose, etc. A hairdryer will help to loosen paint from hair. Use a soft, slightly damp paint brush and wipe paint off eyes, then buff them with a Q-tip until clean.

  11. Using a fine-tip paint brush, carefully apply Jonas Clear Gloss to eyelids and membrane. Let dry. Using the Clear Gloss again, carefully spray nose inside and out. Let dry. )Be sure to cover eyes with a cloth before spraying). Hair Sheen may be used to give the mount a finishing touch.
