How To Install a Flexible Tail

The McKenzie flexible tails are made of a flexible foam with wire reinforcement
to help anchor and hold desired shape. Flexible tails are available for African Lion, Tiger, Mountain Lion, Otter, Muskrat and many more species.

Sew up the tail skin on the tanned hide and measure the length of the tail.

Saw out the hips of the form.

Hollow out the base of the tail so that the flexible tail can slide into place.

Cut or sand off the skin of the foam at the base of the tail so that bondo will stick.

Bondo the tail into place so that the desired length extends out of the form.

Trim off any excess.

The wire should run along the bottom side of the tail form.

Drill a hole into the body of the form to accept the tail wire.

Bend the wire into a zig-zag shape.

Reattach the hip piece with bondo.

After the Bondo is completely set, bend the tail into the desired position.
