Cape Buffalo Paint Schedule

Instruction Steps:

  1. Putty all holes, cracks, nostrils, ears, etc. with a paintable material such as Magic Sculpt.

  2. Note: on Cape Buffalo it is best to build up any missing boss with paper mache or fiberglass putty at this point.

  3. Spray entire body and head with Jonas Dark Chocolate Brown as well as eyelids, ears, nose, etc.

  4. Next, take Jonas Black and mist the whole body to darken as needed (some Buffalo are darker than others, paint as needed). Be sure to spray nose, ears, eyelids, nostrils, etc.

  5. Also use Jonas Black to paint any artificial boss to match ortiginal horn.

  6. Wipe eyes clean with a damp paint brush.

  7. Using a fine-tip brush, touch up eyelids. Let dry.

  8. Using a blow dryer and a stiff cloth, rub out all the paint from hair, body and face (this will take some elbow grease!).

  9. Use Jonas Clear Gloss and a fine-tip brush. Apply to eyelids. Let dry, then buff with a Q-tip.

  10. Cover eyes with a cloth and spray a clear gloss finish into the nose and on nose leather. Use a matte finish to spray inner ears and horn bosses.
