Using Pre-Tan #110

Pre-Tan #110 (Concentrate) by Knoblochs is used in the salt brine solution to help set hair, to retard bacteria growth and to pre-tan the skin. It helps make shaving easier, produces better and softer leather. It does not require neutralizing and will not reduce stretch.

Directions:

Mix 1 pound of salt to each gallon of hot water and let cool. Then add 3 ounces of Pre-Tan #110 for each gallon of salt solution.

Place the skin in the solution for 4 to 6 hours. Then remove, drain, shave and place back in the solution for 2 more hours and then reshave. For thick skins like moose and elk leave in each solution one hour longer.

After shaving is complete, rinse well and drain, then apply Liqua Tan.

Caution:

Wear protective rubber gloves

For each batch of skins mix a new solution.
