Ammonium Sulfate is for use on hides that have been de-haired, it is a must that they be delimed and bated. Deliming, as the name implies, kills the lime action. Bating puts enzymes back into the hide that the lime has taken out. Without these enzymes the hide will not tan properly. Use approx. 1/2 lb. to 10 gal. of water or 2% for each 10 lbs. dry hide weight of Ammonium Sulfate and 4 oz. of Oropon.
