WIRE SIZE GUIDELINE

(The smaller the number the heavier the wire.)

6, 8, 10ga.......Turkey, XL Geese
8, 10, 12ga.....Large Geese
10, 12, 14ga...Med Geese
12, 14, 16ga..Small Geese, Ducks, Phesants
14, 16ga.......Grouse, Prairie Chicken, similar size birds
16ga.............Pigeon, small Duck, Partridge, similar size birds
16, 18ga.......Quail, Woodcock, similar size birds

The above sizes are intended for a guide only. Heavier gauges give more stability, but are difficult to work with. Common sense must be your guideline, since each species varies considerably in size.
