How to Install Artificial Mammal Noses
How to Install Mammal Noses
Installing artificial mammal noses is rather simple! Measure from front to back of the plastic nose, and then transfer this measurement onto the foam manikin. Measure from the top of the plastic nose to the bottom of the nose and do the same on the foam manikin. Cut the foam nose away with a sharp knife or small saw. Then simply hot glue or Bondo the plastic nose to the foam manikin. Glue should be applied to both the back and the bottom of the plastic nose and the foam manikin. Blend any needed areas with clay or bondo.
Mounting the skin
Carefully cut the real nose off the skin with a scalpel. Place the skin on the form. The skin should be glued into place around the nose with Super Glue, or Super Glue Gel. There will be a slight gap, where the skin meets the back and side of the nose. This can be simply filled in, after the skin dries, with Apoxie clay. After epoxy dries, paint the nose and filled areas with any type of paint medium.
