Blood Eater

Blood Eater is a relaxing agent and a blood release agent at the same time. It is ideal for rehydrating bloody capes and skins. It has excellent protein attacking abilities (an infinity to dispersing blood). It can be used by itself, or in conjunction with a normal relaxing bath. Keep in mind that very little is needed to effectively relax and clean your capes and skins.

It is an excellent choice for cleaning bloody bird skins.

For Normal Use:

Use 2 fluid ounces (4 tablespoons full) of Blood Eater to every 5 gallons of water needed to completely submerge your capes or skins. Leave the skins in this solution until they are re-hydrated and flexible. Usually most salt dried capes will fully relax within 4 to 8 hours. When using as a blood release for birds, mix 1 tablespoon full to every gallon of cold water. Soak the bird in this solution for 20 to 40 minutes, proceed with a Dawn dish soap and lukewarm water bath, followed by a cold water rinse.

Blood Eater and your current relaxing bath:

When using Blood Eater with your current relaxing/re-hydrating bath, we recommend adding Ultra-Soft in addition to Blood Eater. Add 1 ounce of Blood Eater to every 5 gallons of solution. A good re-hydration bath is:

For every 1 gallon of water use 1/4 lb. of salt, 1 ounce Ultra-Soft, 1 tablespoon full of Blood Eater, and 1/4 fluid ounce of Bactericide.

Leave the  skins or capes in this solution until soft. When fully relaxed, remove, rinse, and inspect for any bloody spots still left. Scrub these with the relaxing solution, then rinse again and place in the pickling solution.
